If you're following along with the ESE101 exercises and the MSP430 LaunchPad dev kit, then I recommend updating to TI's latest Code Composer Studio IDE: http://www.ti.com/tool/ccstudio-msp

They just released a new version, 6.1.3 (changelog), which adds proper Mac OS X support, GCC support for the MSP430, and fixes a bunch of bugs on all platforms.
